Jolynn's last blog

When you look back at reading the book and looking up why she wrote the book the way she did, you realize that most of the things she writes truly happened in her life. It made me wonder if that could ever happen to you, it made me feel thankful for everything i have i charish everything I have, I have learnded that you might feel like you are starting to have everything that you could ever ask for but in a blink of an eye it can be gone, you can lose everything in a hear beat. I think that this has to be the saddest book i have ever read. I believe everyone should read the book Burned just to realize how good their life truly is, and to see how bad other people have it.

Blog # 2 3/2

**How did you feel about the whole no letters or contact from the family?**(before the sister came back from camp)....At first I was a little upset, but then I realized that her family didn't really show very much affection when she was home so what was I to think they would when she was gone. She was used; a normal teenager should not have to raise her brothers and sisters. I teenager should be able to enjoy her life, not taking on the role of being an adult. I think that it is better that way only because of the fact that she wouldn’t have to explain the things that where happening. It was really better that way..

Blog # 3 4/3

***How could love so right, die so wrong?***
I was very hard to read the ending, I was very upset. Their love was SO right for one another. They loved each other very much, their was a spacial reason for them meeting! Just when her life was looking up for her (in a way) it all come crashing down in the blink of an eye. Makes me think about how much time is so precious, One minute you can be laughing, and the next laying in the hospital bed. To many take things/ people for granted in this book an example was her father, Always making her take care of the kids, Although she was a Mormon i believe she should have had right to do things to. their are many people today who have religion yet are allowed to live their life's, as a teenager not an adult.
I can understand what she is going threw in the end of the book for the reason that, One of my best friends was in a car accident and i remember calling her cell phone to talk to her, not knowing that the voice on the other end would be telling me she was in a car accident. I broke down and cry ed harder then i have ever cry ed in my life time. She told me that she had 4 broken ribs, brain damage, she was very badly burned from head to toe, they didn't know if they where going to have to remove her legs or if she was even going to make it. She did, 9 months in the hospital but she survived. Her cousin was killed immediately on impact. Now she has a blood clot in her lung, that could kill her.

This is a song that reminds me of their love.

connections to nows life(courtney)

· The most popular one that was the most connected to our life now is the abuse like throughout the first few pages the mother always got abused till she found out she was pregnant, then after awhile the second to oldest kid started to get abused and after Pattyn moved back from her aunts she started to get abused too. And this is what happens all threw life anymore with just young kids and also with the relationships.
· Another is when she didn’t feel fit in with her family, society, and friends because she always got treated differently like her family she had to take care of all her siblings when her parents just sat around doing nothing or either just complaining. And to society because everyone either always had their little groups and she never fit into them and then she never got new close every year like they did and it never dawned on her. And then she wasn’t really a people person so she never really had friends.

**How do you feel when her dad sent her to her aunts?Did you think it would change anything**
...I was happy but scared at the same time, knowing how her dad acted I was afraid her aunt was going to be the same way. After understanding her aunt a little and knowing that her aunt had actually gone through almost the same thing I was glad that she could be able to talk to someone that knew what she was feeling. I then felt happy. I knew nothing would change, everything was turning for the good, by sending her to her aunts, but in the end of the book her life took a turn for the worst loosing the two most important loves in her life. I think that she should have stood up for herself like her sister said to stay at her aunt’s house, but without knowing what would happen, with a father like hers I guess it would have been good for her to go back home.

final thoughts of Burned(Courtney)

Throughout the whole book it was something new and revealing. This book made me so I didn’t want to put the book down because I couldn’t wait for another moment I was able to read again. This always gave me mind creeping, spin chilling and phenomenal thoughts throughout the whole book because you either figured what was going to happen or just couldn’t believe it. Also, in the very beginning she was just an ordinary child with the ordinary parents until she got deeper and deeper in her thoughts she finally admitted it wasn’t an ordinary family, so she tried to fit in and soon she did and father caught her so all her could think of doing is sending her somewhere for the summer and she went to her Aunt J. where she finally found love not only by her aunt but by this boy Ethan. But to find out more you must read the whole novel it will get to you so you will never want to stop.

by Jo-Lynn (done with book)

Burned is one of the few books I actually got into and just couldn't put it down. I just had to know what was going to happen next, this book was incredible, emotional, heartbreaking, yet so beautiful. Once you get into this book you would never guess what happens at the end.
Pattyn starts off to seem like a normal high school girl who's parents force to be religious, but the thing most people dont know is that her father is very abusive. When she finds her first love she ends up in alot of trouble, she breaks windows and noes. Her father thinks she needs to go live with her aunt out in the country to put her back in shape. While she is out there, she finally finds the love of her live and in a split second, (you thought i was gonna tell you didn't you? well guess again you will just have to read it for yourself!)

thought on Burned so far (Courtney)

So far the parts I have read of this book is that the young girl has a troubled life when she grows up in a crowded house with seven kids and two parents and she feels like an outsider not only with her family but with the society. Then finally when she finds some happiness her father evades it and shortly everyone thinks she possessed by the Satan because she is a Mormon. So then after she has troubles with school, family and boys her father sends her to her Aunt Jeanette to see if that could change her and so far it has had a great impact on her. So far of what I have read of this book I like this book and would like to proceed with the novels written by Ellen Hopkins.
